User guide
Every screen, explained
Canopy AI, screen by screen: what each one is for, how to use it, and where its figures come from. This is the same text the app shows behind every ? and in its Help & guide. It is written from the app as it is; if a line here and the screen ever disagree, the screen is right and this line is the bug.

Getting started
Section 1 of 28
The first hour with Canopy AI: the facts the app needs from you, in the order it asks for them, and the screen that takes over at each step. Each step below is one section of this guide in full.
How to
- First open: choose the units you garden in, then I'm new to gardening for a guided path of six steps, or I know my way around for the full toolkit. Either can be switched later in Settings.
- Where is your garden: type a town or postcode (a town name works best; a postcode works in the US). Your zone, your frost dates and the weather all come from this one answer. Skip for now leaves it for Settings → Location & frost, where Save Frost Dates also takes dates of your own.
- Draw the garden: open Garden, tap the pencil, then + to add a bed; drag it into place, drag its corner handle to size it, and Done. Edit bed changes its name, size and type any time.
- Put plants in it: Add plant on the Plants screen opens the Plant catalogue; Plant this on a crop puts it in a bed or in Waiting to plant. From then on the planting is on the map, in Plants and in every count.
- Plan the season: Design Plan in the Planting planner dates a crop from your frost dates; the Calendar lays the dates out; a Pulse card on Home says what is due today.
- Record what you do: Record, under Do it now on Home and as the gold button in the Log, logs a watering, a feed, a harvest or a photo in a few taps. The Log is the app's memory: every count on Home and in Insights is read from it.
- Water: the Watering plan proposes each zone's days, start time and minutes from your plantings, the forecast and the rain that already fell; Save as mine keeps a program as yours. Turn Water & Feed off for the season rests it for the winter.
- The guided path: its six steps run from Find the Sun to Keep Them Alive. START MISSION on a step opens the screen it is about with a strip above the bottom bar, and Back to the path returns to the list. A step completes, in order, from what you actually did: a bed, a plan, a plant sown (not a draft), a hardening schedule, a care record. Or from MARK COMPLETE, which on Toughen Them Up reads I SOWED OUTDOORS — SKIP.
- Many screens carry a ? in the top bar that explains that screen; Help & guide in the drawer holds all of this text and searches it.
Home
Section 2 of 28
Today's garden at a glance: the date and your location's weather in the hero, the Pulse (what needs you today), the four things you do most, the season so far, every tool, and what was logged lately.
How to
- The Pulse has two lanes. Do this is what needs a hand, soonest first; Good to know is what you may want to know. Each lane shows three cards and folds the rest behind a tap.
- Tap a Pulse card to go where it points. A card one tap can honestly finish carries its done button. The tick acknowledges a card; Snooze hides it until the morning, In 3 days or Next week; Turn off cards like this hides that kind of card until you Show again (frost and bring-in warnings cannot be turned off). Under Recently dismissed, Restore or Bring back returns a card, and a card one tap can finish keeps its done button there too. A dismissed card comes back when a new plant joins it; dismissed news leaves the list after two weeks.
- Recently dismissed, under the Pulse, lists what you dismissed and when; it reads Set aside while anything is snoozed, and Bring back returns a card.
- Do it now: Record logs a task, Water opens this week's plan, Plant catalogue opens every crop the app knows, Calendar opens your dates. Ask Canopy sits under All tools.
- Tap any tile under The season so far to see the list behind its number.
- The hero's top-right corner shows your zone and the temperature; while no location is set it reads SET YOUR LOCATION and opens Settings.
- After your first autumn frost a card offers to turn Water & Feed off for the season in one tap. The app never turns it off by itself; while it is off the watering and feed cards go quiet.
The figures
| Figure | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| The season so far | Counts from your last spring frost (Settings → Location & frost). January 1 only when no frost date can be worked out. Drafts are not counted. |
| Harvests | Harvest entries in your log since the season opened. |
| To frost | Days to your next first autumn frost, from the same frost rule every screen uses. |
| First sow | The first sowing inside this season's window, not one from last year. |
Garden
Section 3 of 28
Your garden drawn to scale: beds and areas, the plantings in them, where crops stood in past years, and the ground under them if you added a backdrop. Three ways of looking: the whole garden, one bed, one planting.
How to
- Whole garden: pinch to zoom, drag to pan, tap a bed to open it. The pencil in the top bar arranges beds; the three dots hold Overview, Recenter, Save home view, Waiting to plant, Align map, Map settings and Undo.
- Arranging beds: drag a bed to move it (a ghost outline shows where it is going), drag its corner handle to resize, drag the blue knob or twist with two fingers to turn it, tap + to add a bed. Every move shows a note with Undo. Done leaves the mode.
- One bed: Plant here puts a waiting plant in this bed. Edit bed changes its name, size, angle, type, build and placement; Edit the shape traces its real outline corner by corner, with undo and redo. Lock all and Unlock all, in the three dots, pin or free every planting in the bed at once; each planting's own lock is on its card. Clear bed empties it; Delete bed removes it, says what goes with it, and can be undone from the note for a few seconds. A focused bed shows rulers along all four edges, in your units.
- One planting: tap it for its card. Water, Feed and Prune log a task; Move sends it to another bed; Uproot sends it back to Waiting to plant (it asks first); Details opens its page in the bed, where its count and position are set; Adjust nudges and turns it; Profile opens its full record. A locked planting's label starts with a lock.
- Placing a planting: the position you type or drag to is the first plant's centre, and the readout above it says so. Auto lays a group out as the squarest block that fits; turn it off to pin the per-row and rows figures. Labels run along their row.
- Map settings (three dots): Square-foot grid draws one-foot cells over a bed at Faint, Normal or Bold; Snap increment (off, 2, 3, 4, 6 or 12 in) rounds every drop and typed position. A square-foot bed snaps to its cells even with the switch off.
- CROP ROTATION on the bed panel says how much of the bed is clear ground for a crop's family this year; it turns red only when none is. The same verdict is asked wherever a plant lands: Plant here, a move, the staged-plant dialog and a design draft.
- Season, in a bed's bar, opens a date slider: plantings appear on their planting date, grow, and fade after harvest. Plantings that have ended show faded where they stood, from planting to the day they ended. Timeline shows, in Map settings, sets how far back it goes: This season, Last 2 years, Last 3 years or All years.
- Check crop rotation, in Map settings, turns the rotation verdict and every rotation warning off, for a garden that grows the same crops in the same bed each year. The record of what grew is kept, and turning it back on brings the verdict back.
- The rotation verdict and its warnings, LAYOUT HISTORY and next-season design are part of Pro, open for an account's first 60 days. The map and the record of what grew are free, and are kept either way.
- SOIL on the bed panel: Log a soil test records a lab report or a home kit (pH, buffer pH, organic matter, N, P, K with the lab's units and ratings, recommendations). On the phone, Photograph the report fills the fields from a picture. WHAT THIS BED NEEDS reads the result; Log an amendment records what you added; CANOPY'S TAKE answers Ask Canopy what to do (one model call).
- LAYOUT HISTORY on the bed panel: import past years from a file (the panel hands out a template), see them as a ghost with year chips, and the rotation verdict reads them. A corrected file replaces the years it carries.
- Read a plan picture (From a plan picture when adding a bed, in the full app): the AI reads a drawn plan, such as one exported from another garden-planning app, row by row. Review each row, fix a crop, variety or count with the pencil, then make a new bed from it, import it into this bed, or save it as a CSV. Reading a plan picture is part of Pro from the first day; importing past years from a spreadsheet is free.
- Next season: pick a design year and the plantings you stage are plans on the map, not plantings, drawn with a hollow marker and named with their year, such as Tomato (2027 Draft). Each is checked for rotation where it stands, for its own year. Make 2027 plans turns the staged designs into dated plans.
- Trees, canes and large shrubs always show their mature-canopy ring and today's outline; smaller plantings show them on tap.
- On the desktop: the mouse wheel zooms at the cursor, the arrow keys nudge the selected planting (Shift for a foot), Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Y undo and redo, and the timeline has Play.
- The ? in the top bar explains the mode you are in.
The figures
| Figure | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Sq ft / m² | The bed's drawn size. Metric growers see metres; the stored geometry is the same. |
| Waiting to plant | Plantings that left a bed and have not been placed again. They keep their history. |
| The ghost rows | Where crops stood in an earlier year, from the layout history you imported or the seasons the app has seen. |
| Clear ground | The share of the bed where no plant of that family stood in the years the rotation rule looks back over. |
Plants
Section 4 of 28
Every planting you are growing, one card each: what it is, where it stands, how long since it was sown, and what its clock says.
How to
- Add plant opens the Plant catalogue; Plant this on a card puts it in a bed or in Waiting to plant.
- Active shows what is growing; Ended shows what finished; All shows both.
- A draft is a plan, not a planting: its card reads its year and DRAFT, says which bed it is planned for, and offers Discard this draft. It takes no care until it is sown.
- Long-press cards to select several: Quick Water logs water for all of them; Log for N opens the task sheet for the batch. Drafts are left out of a batch.
- FINALIZE (N) in the bar confirms plantings the app added as drafts. IDENTIFY (N) appears when Canopy is not sure which crop a plant is.
- Tap a card for its full record — the planting card.
- An ended planting's card says how it ended. One that ended before Canopy kept outcomes reads Not recorded and offers How did it end?; the answer is written with the date you pick, and the planting stays ended.
The figures
| Figure | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| AGE | Days since the sowing date on the card. |
| DRIFT ALERT | The plan's transplant date has passed and this planting has not reached the garden. |
Log
Section 5 of 28
The ledger: everything you have recorded, newest first. This is the app's memory of your season and the source of every count on Home and in Insights.
How to
- Record (the gold button at the top) logs a task for a plant. It saves the moment you add it.
- Tap an entry to see it in full; a photo travels with its entry. A batch entry can be reverted as one.
- Search looks at the plant, the task, the variety, the bed and the note. The dropdowns under it narrow the ledger by time, by kind of entry — several kinds can be ticked at once — and by bed; each kind's number is how many entries it has.
- Recently deleted keeps what you removed until you empty it.
The figures
| Figure | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| The stripe colour | The kind of entry: sowing, watering, feeding, harvest (gold), pest (red), and so on. |
Calendar
Section 6 of 28
Your planting plans laid on dates — start seeds indoors, sow or transplant outdoors, begin hardening off, expected harvest — and, under WATER AND FEED, the week's runs and hand feeds on their days.
How to
- Tap a date to see its steps; tap a step to act on it — a sowing step opens the sowing dialog, a hardening step opens Hardening off, a harvest step opens the planting. A dot on a day chip means something is due; the next button walks them.
- An overdue plan offers three ways out on its card: Start it now, Skip this season — same plan, next year, or Delete plan. Not now leaves it.
- A water or feed row opens the Water or Feed screen. Half an hour before a run the phone reminds you; that evening it asks Did it run?
- Back to the plan on a card opens the Planner, where the dates can be changed.
The figures
| Figure | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| The dates | Worked out by the Planner from your frost dates and each crop's timing; they move if you change either. A plan whose planting has ended puts no card after the end date. |
| WATER AND FEED | The same rows the Water and Feed screens show. When Water & Feed is off for the season they are not shown. |
Record a task
Section 7 of 28
Log something you did — watering, feeding, a harvest with its weight, a pest check, a photo — for one plant or for many at once.
How to
- Choose a plant from my list, or scan its tag. Pick the task, add a value if it has one, and add it: it saves at once and the banner offers View in Log.
- WHEN, above the list, back-dates an entry. Pick a day before a planting ended and a late harvest is offered again.
- The list offers only what the plant's state allows, and says what it left out and why: an ended or draft planting takes no care, a dormant perennial is not fed or picked, a plant still coming up is not picked or pruned, a plant already up is not offered Seeds Started, and a plant in a garden bed is not offered Hardening off. The picker marks ENDED and DRAFT rows.
- Batch mode: turn it on, scan or pick several plants, add the task once, then Save entries writes it to every one.
Watering plan
Section 8 of 28
Your week's watering, zone by zone: what to do today, a grid of the week with the weather on top, and each zone's program — the days, start time and minutes your timer holds. Canopy proposes the program from your plantings, the forecast and the rain that already fell; once you save it as yours, Canopy only advises on it.
How to
- Today shows every run that is today's business, with its answer buttons on it: It ran, Skip, Rain did it. A run marked as ran can be corrected with It didn't run or Rain did it; the log row is rewritten, not doubled. A make-up run appears here when a storm that was forecast fell short.
- The week is a grid of zones by days, with the units in the row labels. Tap a run to move it, change its minutes or take it off; tap an empty day to add one, or Add another run this day. Tap the minutes to type them. A run you change is yours and the engine never touches it; a run you added can be deleted; a run taken off or skipped for rain has Put it back.
- Rain covers a run when enough is forecast for that day, or is still in the soil from an earlier day — a Saturday storm still covers Monday. Rain that already fell counts; a quarter inch is the least that does. Inside two days Canopy skips the run for you (Undo puts it back); further out it only marks the day.
- Change program sets a zone's days, start time, minutes and feed cadence. Starts at has preset times and Type a time for any other. Use Canopy's proposal fills the program in; Save as mine keeps it. Propose this week's programs redoes every zone's proposal.
- Why on a zone row shows the arithmetic: Given so far, Left for your runs and Still to give; the week's rain day by day, dated, with the measured depth; a note when a forecast dropped, naming the before and after; and everything that changed, dated.
- Turn off on a zone card rests that zone; its card folds and offers Turn on. Turn Water & Feed off for the season, at the foot of the plan, rests all of it (past the first frost it reads Turn off for the winter); a banner shows the date and Turn back on. The app never turns it off by itself.
- Settings → Weather source holds Soil model corrects the plan. It is off until you turn it on; while off, the soil model only adds a sentence to Why when it disagrees with the rain ledger.
- Your program, Change program, every run you answer, move or add, the reminders and the log are free. Canopy's proposals and the weekly re-plan — Propose this week's programs, rain skips, make-up runs and Why — are part of Pro, open for an account's first 60 days. When the preview ends, Canopy's last proposal becomes a zone's program as it stands, and every one of its days runs.
The figures
| Figure | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Gallons or litres this week | The zone's water budget from ET, rain credit and what is planted; the plan never invents a number. |
| Minutes | That budget divided by the zone's measured flow. |
| Rain in the soil | What fell and has not yet been used, carried day to day for as long as the ground holds it; Why says how long that is. |
| The forecast | Always the garden's location, never the phone's. |
Feed
Section 9 of 28
What to feed, how much, and when. Next lists every feed soonest first: an injector zone's feed rides on its water run, and a hand-fed group of plantings has a cadence — every 7, 14 or 21 days by how hungry the crop is — that you can make your own.
How to
- Fed it on a group records the feed in the Activity log with the bag and the amount, and moves the next one on by the interval. A missed feed reads OVERDUE and is due now. The amount's unit follows the bag: fluid ounces or millilitres for a liquid, grams otherwise.
- Change… on a group sets how often, from when, and with which bag. Let Canopy propose resets the interval and leaves the rest. Why these feeds says where the cadence comes from.
- Mix on an injector zone opens the bucket: grams of your bag into the stock container, and why. A zone's recipe carries its bed's soil test; the fit line names the test's date.
- The month shows a dot on each feed day; tap a day to see whose.
- A zone with a feeding target and no bag says so; Add a bag in Seeds & supplies opens the add form. The first time a zone injects, acknowledge the backflow preventer; it is asked once.
- A paused group reads PAUSED and offers Resume. When Water & Feed is off for the season the screen says so.
- The feed schedule and Fed it are free. Mix, Why these feeds and Let Canopy propose are part of Pro, open for an account's first 60 days. Once the preview ends, a group with no interval of its own reads set how often until you give it one in Change…; an interval you already saved, or Canopy had already set, stays.
The figures
| Figure | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| The grams | From the bag's analysis, the target ratio and the stock bucket size in the zone's setup, adjusted by the bed's soil test where there is one. |
Hardening off
Section 10 of 28
The board for seedlings getting used to outside: each card says whether they should be out today, for how long, and why.
How to
- Enrol a planting from a seedling area; it follows a protocol you can edit.
- Each day: OUT when the forecast allows, IN when it does not. Stress check records how they looked.
- Hour by hour opens today's hours, with yesterday one tap to the left marked PAST. Hours already observed are drawn solid and underlined, and the caption names the source: your station's gauge, else the model's record.
- The forecast detail names the hour that blocks a day (wind, cold, sun). With your own station the live check also reads its rain and gusts.
- Graduation plants them out and ends the run.
- Today's verdict, the protocol and the log are free. Hour by hour and the days ahead are part of Pro, open for an account's first 60 days.
The figures
| Figure | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Safe hours | Hours today inside the protocol's wind, temperature and sun limits, from the forecast and the hours already observed. |
When crops are ready
Section 11 of 28
For each crop you are growing, how close the harvest is — by heat units for crops that have them, by days for the rest — and the controls to act on it.
How to
- The strip at the top counts plantings by readiness; tap a count to filter (DORMANT is always shown). Pick a bed to see its crops; search and sort sit in the top bar.
- Tap a crop for its plantings. FINISH THIS PLANTING ends one; once its window has passed the same button reads CLEAR THE BED, and either keeps every log and harvest record.
- Finishing a planting follows one rule: an annual is retired; a perennial's season is closed, and its card reads CLOSING THE SEASON… until it has. A planting not bearing yet, already closed this year, or outside its picking season is refused with the reason, and only Lost or Removed are offered.
- A closed perennial offers Still picking — reopen. A dormant one says when it is back; that date is next season's.
- The clock icon in the top bar opens Harvest timing, where a variety's days-to-harvest figure can be set once for every planting of it.
- Germinated and Skip on a milestone card record the stage; either can be undone.
- Heat units, their chart and the projected date are part of Pro, open for an account's first 60 days. Without them a card counts the variety's days to harvest; what is ready is said either way.
The figures
| Figure | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| GDD | Growing degree days: heat accumulated since the planting's clock started, from your location's temperatures. The chart names its target. |
| Days | From the planting's own figure, else the variety's, else the crop's — Harvest timing shows which. A planting without one gets a sentence instead of a date. |
| FIRST HARVEST | A tree or shrub not bearing yet shows the year it should, with no target or bands on its chart. |
| Winter | Growth pauses: a ready date that falls in winter moves to the next season's opening. |
Seeds & supplies
Section 12 of 28
What you have: seed packets, fertilizer bags, and the rest, with quantities and where they are kept.
How to
- + adds an item; the form opens blank and asks before discarding. Tap an item to edit it or record a sowing from it.
- Search looks at the name, the crop and variety, the supplier and where it is kept. The two dropdowns under it narrow the list: the first picks the shelf — Running low shows what is running out — and the second picks a type; each row's number is what it would show.
- The shopping list (three dots) is worked out from your plans and what you already have.
- A bag a zone feeds from reads IN USE BY that zone.
- The Identity Check card lists packets whose crop the app and you disagree on: Settle N yourself opens them one by one; Show the N disagreements lists them.
Planting planner
Section 13 of 28
Planting plans: for a crop and variety, the dates to start seeds, harden, plant out and harvest, worked out from your frost dates. A plan whose season has already passed is dated for the next one, and the banner says so.
How to
- Design Plan makes a plan for one crop; Make plans from my drafted beds makes one for every drafted plant sitting in a bed. Edit a plan's dates on its card.
- Plans are listed by season and state; fold a season, fold them all, or jump to the top. A finished plan has Plan again for next season; a past season has Plan all again for the year that follows. Re-plan opens the dialog with the crop already filled in.
- See on the calendar opens the dates; NEEDED means you have no packet for it and opens Seeds & supplies with the Add dialog ready, filled from the plan down to the quantity.
- The banner says which season the plan was dated for and warns when a spring plan's harvest would run past the autumn frost.
- Making a plan spends a model call only for a crop your Flora Index cannot answer, and the dialog says so.
The figures
| Figure | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| The dates | Your last and first frost dates (Settings → Location & frost) plus the crop's timing from the catalogue, by the material that goes in the ground (seed, clove, slip, bare root). |
| Days to harvest | A planting sown from a plan inherits the plan's figure, so this screen and When crops are ready agree. A figure you typed is never overwritten. |
Plant catalogue
Section 14 of 28
Every crop and variety the app knows, with spacing, timing, yield and growing notes: Canopy's figures, and yours where you have set them.
How to
- Plant this puts a plant in a bed or in Waiting to plant; a banner says where it went and offers Open the garden.
- Add to catalogue adds a crop by name, or a pasted list of names; Canopy researches each one's figures with the AI and the card reads AI Researching while it does.
- A figure marked yours is one you set; Reset returns it to Canopy's and says what is lost. For a permanent plant the timing dialog also takes First bloom or harvest, days after your last frost.
- You are growing N of these appears on a tile when you have living plantings of it.
Ask Canopy
Section 15 of 28
A conversation with the AI about your garden. Pick a planting and the answer knows its stage, its bed and its history.
How to
- Type a question; every message counts as one question of your allowance. New question starts a fresh thread.
- Choose a planting at the top to ask about it in particular.
- A Free account has 5 questions a day and 20 a month; Pro has 60 a day. When the allowance is used the app says so and when more arrive.
Photo check
Section 16 of 28
Take or choose a photo of a plant and the AI describes what it sees — pests, disease, stress — and what to do.
How to
- Take a photo, or Choose a photo instead; on the desktop, which has no camera, CHOOSE A PHOTO is the one door. The reading appears under the picture.
- SAVE THIS READING keeps it on the plant's log, with the photo. Each reading is one model call.
- A Free account has 3 photo checks a month; Pro has 10 a day. Soil-report, label and plan-picture readings count as photo checks.
AR view
Section 17 of 28
Your plantings drawn over the camera as you walk the garden, placed from the map and your phone's position. It is a Beta: how well it lines up depends on your phone's position and compass. It is part of Pro, open for an account's first 60 days.
How to
- Calibrate: walk to two or more bed corners, stand still on each for a few seconds, and the garden's position and heading are fitted to them. The miss figure says how well.
- Clear calibration asks first: it throws the fitted position away.
The figures
| Figure | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| MISS / SPREAD | How far the fit is off, and how far apart your corners were; further apart is better. |
Weather
Section 18 of 28
The forecast for your garden's location, the readings that drive watering and hardening, and today's advice.
How to
- Each day of the outlook opens with the forecast in words; Full forecast on the Water screen comes straight here.
- Every reading has a ? that says what it is. More readings unfolds the rest; the footer names the units, which follow your Units setting.
- Under ET, See this week's watering opens the plan that uses it.
- Settings → Weather source chooses the forecast, your own weather station, or the station with the forecast as fallback. A station's soil probes have their own switch there; a probe reading 0 % is treated as unplugged and never used.
- The nursery panel shows an indoor reading only when your station reports one.
The figures
| Figure | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| ET | Water lost from soil and leaves today; the watering budget starts from it. |
| Rain | The day's total in your units, as rain or as snow. |
| Soil moisture | Your probe when you have one; otherwise the model's root-zone estimate, which also starts the dry-down curve. |
| The advisory | Advice from the forecast and your plantings — never a claim about equipment the app cannot see. |
Canopy Insights
Section 19 of 28
The season read back from your log: the numbers, this season against last, harvest by crop and by bed, sow-to-harvest times per crop against the stated figures, what came through, water week by week and against the rain that fell, and the ledger by month.
How to
- This season against last shows the same window a year earlier. In your first season it says so; the comparison fills in next year.
- Harvest by crop and Yield per bed list what you logged, heaviest first. A crop or bed picked by count is listed as a count, never ranked as a weight.
- Water used against rain reads the watering plan's own record: runs you confirmed, runs rain let you skip, runs missed, and the rain measured, one depth per day.
- Tap a crop under Sow to harvest to see each planting's days.
- What came through counts each crop's plantings by how they ended. Ended, not recorded are plantings that ended before Canopy kept outcomes; open one from Plants › Ended and tap How did it end? to say.
- Ask the model runs a paid audit of the season; it never runs on its own. Clear removes the answer.
- This season in numbers is free. The other sections are part of Pro, open for an account's first 60 days; the audit is Pro from the first day.
The figures
| Figure | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Since <date> | The season opened at your last spring frost; every count here starts there. Drafts are not counted. |
Reports
Section 20 of 28
Twelve files you can keep or send, in four groups: this season (the summary, the planting list, the harvest log, the watering and feeding log), plan ahead (the seed shopping list, the calendar as a page or for your phone's calendar app), records (the activity log, finished plantings, seeds and supplies) and reference (the bed map and this guide).
How to
- Tick what you want and tap Generate. Every file is saved to Downloads › CanopyAI on the phone and offered to share; several at once arrive in one share sheet. On the desktop a PDF opens in Windows.
- A row with a choice carries PDF and CSV on the row itself; picking one also ticks the row. A row with one format says which.
- The calendar for your phone is an .ics file: share it to Google Calendar or any calendar app and every plan step lands as an all-day event.
- The activity log by month leaves maintenance entries out and says how many; the watering and feeding log follows the Water & Feed switch.
- The activity log as a CSV, the user guide, the seed shopping list and both calendar files are free. The other reports are part of Pro, open for an account's first 60 days.
Settings
Section 21 of 28
Account, backup, and the facts the whole app works from: where the garden is, its frost dates, the weather source, your seedling areas, your own log tasks and units. Settings opens on six groups, each its own page, and each says what is set there now: Account & backup, My garden, Weather, Reminders & AI, App, and Maintenance.
How to
- My garden, Location & frost: type your town or postcode; the zone and frost dates follow. Type your own frost dates to override them.
- Your plan, under Account, says whether the account is Free, in its 60-day preview or Pro, and opens what Pro adds and its price. A Free account backs up its first 100 log photos; later ones stay on the phone and their cards say so.
- Weather: the forecast, your station, or both, and the station's soil-probe switch. The forecast is free; your own station is part of Pro, open for an account's first 60 days.
- Backup: Back up now pushes what is pending; Pull what's missing brings down what this phone lacks without removing anything. A row this phone and the cloud both changed is listed as a conflict: Keep my changes or Use the cloud's.
- Tasks & categories, under My garden, holds the jobs you actually do, such as trellising, netting or mulching, and their categories, so the log can record them; they follow your account to every device.
- Seedling areas are the places a planting counts as indoors; Hardening off enrols from them.
- Maintenance repairs links, re-homes stranded plants and tidies the hardening board; each says what it will do first. App holds units, the theme, vibration and Show the welcome screen again.
- About, at the foot of Settings, shows the version (such as 1.0.14 (build 14)) and CHECK FOR UPDATES, which asks Google Play for a newer one; UPDATE NOW opens Play's own update screen. The app also checks once a day and shows a one-line banner when a new version is ready. A copy not installed from Play says it cannot update itself. Under it, getcanopyai.com opens the website and YouTube opens the Canopy AI channel.
- Log out asks first and says how many rows have not reached the cloud. Delete account removes everything, on the servers and on this device, and asks first.
- Forgot your password? On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password?, enter your email, and type the code we email you with a new password. You are signed in with your garden as it was.
