Accessibility statement
Last updated · October 18, 2026
Canopy AI should be usable by every gardener, including people who use a screen reader, larger text, a keyboard, or reduced motion. Our goal is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, for this website and for the app.
Where things stand
This website was audited against WCAG 2.1 AA in October 2026, in both its dark and light themes, on phone and desktop widths, and the problems found were fixed. Text meets the contrast minimum, links inside sentences are underlined, pages work with a keyboard, and nothing needs sideways scrolling on a small screen. Moving decorations switch off when your device asks for reduced motion.
The Android app is being audited now. It follows your phone's text size and its remove-animations setting. Labels for screen readers (TalkBack) are being checked screen by screen.
Known limits
- The garden map in the app is a drawing, so a screen reader cannot read it. Every bed and planting on it can also be reached from the app's lists, such as each bed's card and My plants.
- The companion chart on this site has small squares. The “Show one crop” menu above it gives the same answers in larger text. See the companion chart.
- Our YouTube videos are silent screen recordings. Each one has a caption track that describes every step on screen, and the same steps are written out in the user guide.
Tell us what gets in your way
If anything on this site or in the app is hard or impossible for you to use, email support@getcanopyai.com. Say which page or screen, what you were trying to do, and what you use (for example a screen reader, or a larger text size). We read every message, and we will reply and work on a fix. If it's urgent, we can also help you get the information another way while the fix is made.
